I featured the Casadei Calder wedge in the SHOP section a couple weeks ago. Casadei’s Spring 2012 collection is one of my favorites this season and this wedge is stunning. It’s available online in red, green, yellow, brown and nude.
I was going to purchase the yellow however at the time it was sold out in my size so I went for the beautiful nude.
This wedge was inspired and named after the sculpter, Alexander Calder who is most famous for inventing abstract sculptures he called “mobiles”. This design was all about evoking movement and Casadei wanted to reinterpret the moving sculptures and abstract elliptic elements. The construction, features “three pieces fused together to become a single element, a true sculpture.”

I am so happy with this wedge. When ordering these I questioned whether I should have went with the 36.5 for fear that the 37 might be too big. However you can see they fit perfect and I’m happy I went with the 37. I suggest ordering your true size (half sizes are available!). They’re sky-high featuring a 5.25″ wedge & 1.75″ platform, but easy to walk in and feel great.
Since my last blog post, my fiancé Max and I have spontaneously become extremely domesticated. We rented a small apartment, purchased a car and “settled down” in Sarasota, Florida. We’ll still be traveling often but it’s so nice to have a home…and a closet!
