Charlotte Olympia Carmen Ostrich Velvet Wedges

Charlotte Olympia
Carmen Fall 2011 teal ostrich velvet wedges | 6″ wedge & 2″ platform
Purchased/available at: I bought these at Neiman Marcus on sale. There is only a size 37 left at Neiman MarcusBergdorf Goodman. You can also find this wedge at Charlotte Olympia.
Fit: I’m a standard 37 in Olympia’s shoes. I just got these so I haven’t worn them out for an entire evening yet however the ankle strap makes them easy to walk in.

I adore Olympia’s Fall 2011 collection and was debating between these and the Tessa cat wedges. Teal is my favorite color so I went with the Carmen. They feature ostrich-embossed velvet with a crystal buckle ankle strap. My only complaint is that since the velvet is quite plush it’s difficult to get the buckle pin through the strap.

I was inspired by Sarah Jessica Parker‘s outfit yesterday & starting playing with bright tights.

More velvet heels from the same collection:

Greta platform pump; available in red and green at MyTheresa & in red at Charlotte Olympia
Kitty velvet pump; available (on sale!) at Neiman Marcus & Bergdorf Goodman
Tessa cat face wedge; available at MyTheresa

It was also announced yesterday that Charlotte Olympia’s new NYC store will be opening in January!!!

A large group of us from work, went out to eat. A couple of girls were wearing these shoes, at the place we were eating. THEY LOOKED SO UGLY AND STUPID. Both girls looked like Frankenstein in them. They made both girl’s legs look really heavy and short, too. They were hanging out in the main restaurant area, and we could overhear comments from people who were in there. People were trying not to laugh, and when the girls walked by, everyone was hysterical and saying not-so-nice things. One guy said that he would never date a girl who wore “blue cement blocks” on her feet. So, they may be “really cute, adorable, oh-wow-so-pretty shoes” to some people, BUT NOT TO EVERYONE.
