Posts about Emilio Pucci

The footwear that made their debut on the runways in Milan was quite the mix of styles. We saw wooden platforms, thick tractor rubber soles and stitched satin detailing at Prada (much more wearable than last season).

Fendi says you can indeed wear Nemo (a clownfish print in fur) on your feet and presented colorful fur booties which complemented the other fur accessories including monster puff balls, mohawks and sunglasses.

I wasn’t too surprised by Versace’s designs as they were still “sexy rocker chic” as ever. They used the same spikey embellishment which we saw on several Tom Ford styles this spring.

Dolce & Gabbana’s Byzantine and Venetian mosaic influence translated into their footwear as well…particularly on the golden platform wedge. There were also a few golden cage designs with romantic floral wrapped around the bars.

One of my favorite styles was the cross-strap pump at Emilio Pucci which featured a stingray covered pointed-toe and skinny stiletto.

Angelina Jolie wore Emilio Pucci ankle-strap pumps to the “The Lady” premiere presented at the 62nd Berlin International Film Festival. These heels are from the Fall 2011 collection and available online at Emilio Pucci. I’m so happy to see Angelina out of her usual peep-toe pumps and this triple ankle-strap shoe looks great. Check out more shoes spotted on Angelina.

Elizabeth Olsen wore Emilio Pucci suede sandals to the 2012 Critics’ Choice Awards. These sandals are from the Spring 2012 collection and feature a stingray heel. I’m coveting this look from head to toe; she’s officially now one of my red carpet favorites. The spring heels aren’t online yet however Yoox has several of Pucci’s design on discount. Check out more shoes spotted on Elizabeth.

I wanted to share my favorite shoes from the Fall 2011 shows. From the metallic Louboutin chunky platforms featured at Johnathan Saunders to the intricate beading & fur boots designed by Nicholas Kirkwood for Rodarte, the shoes below are all very unique. The show stopping boot award goes to Piere Hardy for Balenciaga. It looks like they feature stingray, python and leather with hand-painting and rococo details. When I spotted the fun iceskating boots at DSquared2 I was reminded of how much I loved to ice skate when I was younger so those boots are high on my wish list. The metal embellished extreme wedges at Alexander McQueen are deliciously dangerous. I think they mixed stingray & leather which help create such the amazing texturized shoe.

I’m curious, what are your favorite shoes from the fall 2011 shows?

**I’ll be adding Miu Miu heels to this list as soon as the pictures are available; love them!**

Late in 2010 Ciara told Pride magazine, “I think I probably own maybe a thousand pairs…It depends on the items, but, on an average shopping trip I probably spend a minimum of $1,200. It’s not that bad! On average, I will spend about $11,000 a month (on shoes).” At the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards I was disappointed to see the Givenchy sandals Ciara chose with her beautiful Emilio Pucci dress. I know Ciara loves fierce heels but the Givenchy’s didn’t work.

The Grammy’s red carpet is known for an eclectic array of fashion choices. Plus when you know Lady Gaga is on the guest list you can take crazier chances! I know Ciara is (was?) Givenchy’s muse, maybe she tried to pay homage to the brand by wearing the heels? Just a guess because I can’t imagine any other reason why she would have choosen them.

Alexandre Birman python ankle sandals; available online at Luisaviaroma
I really love these sandals with Ciara’s dress. The color and style of the sandal works well with her look.

Emilio Pucci multi-string cage sandal; available online at Luisaviaroma
Like Ciara’s dress, these sandals are also from Pucci’s Spring 2011 collection & would have been a safe but stylish choice.

Emilio Pucci suede cuissard leced boots; available online a Luisaviaroma
I really wish Ciara would have choose the boots. They were debuted with the dress on the runway & would have completed her look. I was also shocked to see these boots available online (currently only available in a 39) – adding them to my wish list!

Roberto Cavalli laced alligator sandal; from the Spring 2011 collection
I think an off white, lighter colored sandal would have also been an unusual but stunning choice.
