A Celestial Fall

Awhile ago I wrote on the most noticeable Fall 2012 shoe trends and how the ankle is getting all the attention. However the stars and moon have also landed upon our feet this season and I’m in celestial bliss.

I’ve found several designers who were inspired by the sky. The most obvious example of this trend is Charlotte Olympia’s collection. The two designs below feature glittered stars and crescent moons and a crescent moon face with a Swarovski crystal tear. We also see celestial colors like blue velvet on the Sergio Rossi sandal and gold piping on the peep-toe pump by Chrissie Morris.

What are your thoughts on this trend? I love a statement shoe and have a thing for stars so I can’t wait to see which designs from Olympia’s collection will appear online.

  1. As someone who prefers the day before the night, and has both the moon and the stars tattooed on my body, I have to say this is a fabulous trend in the shoe-world! Did I mention I’m a shoeoholic too?!What could be more perfect than to dance the night away, while actually wearing the night on your feet?!!! :) xox
