Cate Blanchett wore Nicholas Kirkwood sandals to the 2014 Film Independent Spirit Awards. These shoes are from the Spring/Summer 2014 collection featuring cutout cream leather, two small front buckles, gold micro studs and 105 sculpted gold-tone metal heel. They’re available online at Net-A-Porter.
She posed wearing a Roksanda Ilincic tricolor felted wool sleeveless dress in brick red, delphinium blue and camel with a column skirt which was snagged straight off the runway from the Fall 2014 collection. Cate also added the thick gold-tone plated runway belt.
Pierre Hardy cut-out suede, leather & snakeskin sandals | 120mm/4.8″ heel | shop at The Corner for $1,175
These Spring 2014 shoes are an artistic spin on the staple summer gladiator sandal while showcasing Pierre Hardy’s sleek & graphic design esthetic. They combine wavy straps of black & white striped elaphe snakeskin, ice-blue matte leather, peach suede, mirrored silver leather and pale lemon suede. I love the black patent leather covered hourglass-shaped heel and they also feature a double buckled ankle strap, small asymmetric cut peep-toe and round toe.
This style is only available in whole sizes and you also find it in metallic brushed snakeskin at ShoeScribe.
With his button-up shirt rolled to the elbows and his sleeve tattoo peeking out from beneath the haphazard folds, Alejandro Ingelmo doesn’t exactly scream “luxury footwear designer.” However, looks can be deceiving – Alejandro Ingelmo is a fourth generation shoe designer born and raised in Miami who has found his calling in making seductive pumps that women will be reaching for season after season. Parsons educated and New York based, his brand has been on a sky high trajectory since his womenswear collection debut in 2006.
One look at his sexy, eye-catching designs erases any question as to why his success has been so monumental. We’re in love with the neutral tones he regularly pairs with metallic leather, but this season the addition of color makes the collection more vibrant than ever. Vivacious orange snakeskin paired with gold and rose gold, minty blue-green offset by glimmering gold, and fuchsia paired with gunmetal are just a few of the combinations that have us double taking. It isn’t any wonder that he’s caught the attention of flashy songstresses like Rihanna, Beyoncé, and Nicki Minaj.
Not only does the delectable color palette have us coming back for more, the geometric twists of the Odyssey, Boomerang, Franca, and Circe designs need to be seen to be believed. Each and every shoe is masterfully crafted with an energetic and fierce flair. Additionally, Sophia Webster isn’t the only designer inspired by the glamor of the butterfly, as Alejandro Ingelmo’s Mariposa heels channel the delicate curves of a butterfly’s wings while a single leather lace and dramatic form elevate it to show stopping proportions.
If you’re not into racy five inch stilettos, he notably has created a selection of flats that channel his strong aesthetic without the heel. Having also designed shoes for Jen Kao, Cushnie et Ochs, Helmut Lang, Roksanda Ilinic and Kimberly Ovitz, chances are you’ve been drooling over his designs without even realizing it!
It isn’t all pumps and high-heeled wonders, though. Alejandro Ingelmo also curates a top-of-the-line sneaker collection for men, most known for his crazy cool and futuristic Tron sneaker.
His designs have been spotted on Stacy Keibler, Miley Cyrus, Cara Delevingne, Janelle Monae, Hilary Duff, Justin Timberlake, and even Robert Downey Jr.! Stars gravitate to his designs because they combine architecture with a hint (or a large handful) of sparkle, creating statement making soles that are as stylish as they are striking. Luckily for us, even if we aren’t covering issues of Vogue or topping musical charts, we can own a pair of Alejando Ingelmo’s fabulous shoes. That’s just as good, right?

Sarah Rafferty wore Oscar TiyeAmira pumps to Audi’s Pre-Golden Globes Party held at Cecconi’s Restaurant in LA. They’re from the Fall 2013 collection featuring red wool plaid, black piped leather trim, 110mm heel and signature magenta leather insole. I love these shoes, particularly the aqua snakeskin style as seen on Giovanna Battaglia…they’ve also been spotted on Alexa Vega and Zoe Saldana. Amira is available (on sale!) in black ostrich at Antonioli.
She stars as the lead actress in ‘Suits’ and matched the red carpet wearing a Rhea Costa crepe long sleeve with a v-neck back, draped side waist and back vent from the Pre-Fall 2014 collection.
Sarah carried a small white satin clutch and also accessorized with statement mother-of-pearl earrings by Danielle Queller Jewelry.

Giuseppe Zanotti strappy suede sandal | 120mm heel/12mm platform | shop at Zappos for $1,395
This is a new statement design from Zanotti’s Resort 2014 collection. I’ve seen it in several colors but this pale jade hue is my favorite. They feature circle cage cut-out suede, tapered almond toe, a row of three buckled ankle-straps, nude leather insole and concealed back zip.
I wanted to share a quick look at my favorite new arrivals this week. Many more playful resort styles have landed and a few new spring shoes are also trickling in (on pre-order).
Notes: - Sophia Webster just launched her funky fun Resort 2014 collection and her signature Riko booties are (unsurprisingly) almost sold out however you can still snag them at Farfetch. - Christian Louboutin’s latest staple peep-toe pump, Youpi (which I think we will see on the red carpet very soon) is now on pre-order in a classic black patent leather. - Tamara Mellon’s debut collection has launched (have you seen the short film starring Karlie Kloss?)…it’s a relatively simple collection with select pieces now available at Net-A-Porter.

Lately, we’ve been looking for something a little bit different to fill the void in our footwear fashions. Where classics shoe shapes and silhouettes are undoubtedly wonderful, sometimes we just want to be able to look down at our feet and say “wow.” Sometimes, we just yearn for something elevated from the norm and evocative of effortless elegance. It wasn’t until we discovered Gio Diev and his sculptural footwear that we realized exactly what we have been missing, after what felt line eons of web browsing, we believe we’ve found our solemate.
Founder and creative director of the brand Gio Metodiev used to work in the world of PR with top designers – such as Dolce & Gabbana and Fendi – before realizing his need for creativity and stepping out from behind-the-scenes, heading straight to the forefront of design. That access and knowledge of the industry greatly aided his career ascent, but what really skyrocketed his career was his style; instead of basing his designs on the classics, he launched a footwear brand dedicated to being bold and memorable. Strong, yet sensual. He’s inspired by his surroundings, from the Melbourne Opera House to Josephine Baker’s banana skirt and he noted to Racked, “I see each shoe as a miniature sculpture. When it’s perfectly made it’s like a glorious vision of precision and beauty.”
Truly, when you look at his shoe designs, you are immediately struck by his signature sweeping sophisticated curves, a futuristic “Space Heel” that juts away from the body of the shoe, bold silhouette, and – our favorite! – silver lacquered heels of varying shapes. This season, he’s incorporated his trademark futuristic edge into luscious suede, vibrant python, metallic nappa, and soft leather to create a sensational, feast-for-the-eyes collection. As if that wasn’t excellent enough, his Ancona shoe uses a transparent rubber appliqué overtop white moiré grosgrain for a three-dimensional dazzle and he’s introduced a delicate Namaste embellishment, because the chicest way to say “Namaste, bitches” to your friends isn’t with an organic cotton tote, it’s with a pair of gorgeous handcrafted shoes.
Kirsten Dunst wore Dolce & Gabbana ankle-strap sandals to the Australian premiere of ‘Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues’ in Sydney. They feature pale cornflower blue patent leather, thin front cross-over straps and adjustable ankle strap. You can find similar styles at Antonioli, Pret-A-Beaute and Net-A-Porter.
This silk polka dot cocktail dress with a trumpet hem and tie straps is one of the more modern designs from Dolce & Gabbana’s Sicilian/Grecian inspired Spring 2014 collection.
Kirsten’s outfit is beautiful and also seasonly appropriate seeing as it’s nearly summer in Australia. She finished her look with a raspberry stained lip and delicate northern star earrings.
