Brian Atwood has had one amazing year! Most recently he launched the new Fall 2012 ‘The Sex Is In The Heel’ campaign with Candice Swanepoel, announced the opening of his first store on Madison Avenue, launched a new web site now with an e-boutique and finally celebrated all of this success with a grand party during New York Fashion Week.
The Fall 2012 collection is lovely and there are several styles I’m coveting. Of course I want the Encanta sandal which Eva Longoria has been wearing all summer as well as the Zenith Lux pump.
Here are my top 10 favorite styles: I list where each style is available online however if you’re looking for certain style, contact the customer service team.
Dama satin satin with gold pin heel; this is my #1 favorite design. Unfortunately I haven’t seen it online however you can find a similar sandal, Encanta available in multicolored satin at Saks Fifth Avenue and in several colors at Brian Atwood.
Delfa platform pump featuring purple suede, black embroidery and tassels. Seen on Sarah Hyland at the recent Teen Vogue Young Hollywood Party.
Karin platform sandal with metallic silver fabric and gold studs; available online at Brian Atwood, last seen on Nikki Reed at the Teen Choice Awards
Pazza Fur featuring dark teal snakeskin and rabbit; available online in grey flannel at Colette
Starla Lynch satin embriodered pump with gold pin heel and crystal embellishment
Surreal black suede ankle-wrap sandal; this is my second favorite style from this collection
This is the second season Natalia Vodianova has been the face of Weitzman’s campaign and the ads are stunning! There are many craveable fall/winter boots. My top three favorite styles are the Backflip bootie, Spats boot and Closecall boot.
The collection is quite large so I’ve featured some designs from their fall look book. Visit Stuart Weitzman’s web site to see more styles.
In addition, they’ve also launched their second Young Hollywood Cares Collection to help raise money for ovarian cancer. Brooklyn Decker, Julianne Hough, Nikki Reed, AnnaSophia Robb and Chloë Grace Moretz worked with Stuart to each co-design a footwear style. Proceeds will benefit Dr. Marsha A. Moses’ pioneering research in ovarian cancer.
This season they’ve also debuted a new ‘Walking After Midnight’ film series directed by James Franco featuring Petra Nemcova. It shows a young woman on a midnight fantasy stroll on the streets on NYC wearing one of my favorite styles, the Backflip bootie! This film captures the attributes of the Stuart Weitzman woman; independent, confident, sexy and playful in a visually seductive and intriguing way.
This is the first episode and the next three episodes will be released every “Weitzman Wednesday”. The entire film will go live on October 26th.
Remember Abby? She’s my sister/assistant extraordinaire and works with me on the web site. As you can imagine her love for designer shoes has now hit a new level especially since she writes about them 7 days a week. She also has this little adorable 5 month old monster and has to keep up with him.
Check out her new beautiful red leopard Backflip boots! They’re the perfect manageable height for her featuring a 3.25″ heel, red leopard printed calf hair, engraved metal plated heel, suede tassels and side zipper. These boots run true to size and have a tapered/pointed toe.
Disney’s new movie about the fairytale Rapunzel is called Tangled and debuts late November. I love how the artists use her hair as a creature itself. Watching the trailer I was thinking about shoes (surprise, surprise) and also thought that her hair reminded me of Alexander Wang’s crazy long goat fur boots. I began seeing that hair and fur are a very popular embellishment on both pumps and boots this season.
(from left to right, top to bottom)
1. Chrissie Morris Claudia black calf with Alpaca fur bootie; similar style available online at Kirna Zabete
2. Yves Saint Laurent goat hair platform pump; available online at Colette
3. Lanvin fur cuff python pump; available online at Neiman Marcus
4. Dolce & Gabbana mixed fur boot; available online at Stylebop
French designer Barbara Bui expanded her line into shoes and bags in 2000. Her Fall/Winter 2010 accessory collection is extremely ornate and also sporty with an urban feel. The beading in this collection is amazing. This shoe collection showcases platform ankle boots created with leather, denim, pony hair and fur. See the details of this collection from the runway here.
The Proenza Schouler pre-fall 2010 is bewitching, alluring and suggests midnight playfulness. Although many are calling the clothing in Proenza Schouler’s pre-fall 2010 collection “conservative” the shoes are seductive and rich with their use of leather, glitter, fur, buckles and tassels. It’s also great to see that the wedge isn’t going anywhere for fall. We also see fun booties, slingbacks and buckle & tie fur sandals. I’m excited to see the rest of their collection!
