Elizabeth Banks was spotted wearing Jerome C. Rousseau Orner strappy sandals outside the Late Show with David Letterman studios in NYC. These heels are from the Fall 2012 collection and you can find similar sandals online at Shopbop. I want her entire outfit including the paisley print Marc Jacobs dress! Check out more shoes spotted on Elizabeth.

Eva Longoria attended the 2012 White House Correspondents’ Dinner wearing a white embroidered Marchesa Fall 2012 dress paired with her favorite Brian Atwood black satin Maniac pumps. This dress was presented with gold Christian Louboutin boots.

Eva has gotten so much use out of these pumps and they work for her most of the time however I really wish she would have worn a new, lighter Spring 2012 sandal. It looks her stylist forgot to pack the shoes.

These are some of my favorite sandals this season; see my recent post on this collection

Jerome C. Rousseau satin Aizza pump; online at Designs by Stephene
I love this beautiful nude satin color. It’s just one shade lighter than the color I wanted to see on Megan Fox

Ralph Lauren Collection Jesilla metallic platform sandal; online at Ralph Lauren
There are so many beautiful designs perfect for the red carpet from this Spring 2012 collection

Lauren Conrad was featured in the April 2012 issue of Glamour wearing Jerome C. Rousseau Daho platform sandals. These heels are from the Spring 2012 collection and available online in white and black/gold at Shopbop. heck out more pictures from her Glamour feature and more shoes spotted on Lauren.

Megan Fox wore an embellished Elie Saab Spring 2012 Couture dress to a screening of “Friends With Kids” in NYC. She paired it with one of the heaviest pumps in her closet, the Yves Saint Laurent Tribtoo cap-toe pumps. Her shoe choice completely threw off the whole look for me; she needed a delicate sandal or pump.

Shoes She Should Have Worn: Megan Fox

Alexander McQueen crystal embellished satin sandal; available at Net-A-Porter
I know Megan’s dress is already completely embellished but I had to add these to the list; they’re stunning.

Prada nude simple leather sandal; available online at Bergdorf Goodman & in rose gold at Neiman Marcus
This sandal is a spring staple; the nude color is already almost sold out! I also recommended it to Leighton and featured it in the minimalistic post

Alaïa double ankle-strap sandal; available online at Edon Manor
We recently saw these on Olivia Palermo in ELLE Ukraine. These sandals complement Megan’s nude bow belt too.

Tabitha Simmons Dana suede strappy sandal
We’ve seen these on Jennifer Aniston & I also recommended them to Kristen Bell. They’re from the Spring 2011 collection & I’m attached to them on many levels; it’s hard to find a delicate, soft, blush colored sandal.

Jerome C. Rousseau satin Aizza pump; available online in black glitter at Farfetch and in silver glitter at Otte.
The satin Aizza is the only pump I would pair with Megan’s dress. We’ve seen the satin version on Julia Stiles and recently in glitter on Emmy Rossum.

Emmy-Rossum-Jerome-C-Rousseau-Heels

Emmy Rossum wore Jerome C. Rosseau black  Aizza pumps to the Precognito Gala and Preview Event in LA. These heels are available online in black glitter at Farfetch and in silver glitter at Otte. We’ve also seen Julia Stiles wear the satin version. I like Emmy’s sophisticated black look, I just wish she would have worn a colorful lip color. Check out more shoes spotted on Emmy.

Nicholas Kirkwood, Jerome C. Rousseau & Behnaz Kanani are my favorite footwear designers right now. Rousseau’s work is so brilliant. I love the different textures and colors he uses. In this spring collection you will find a lot of glitter & ponyhair. The colors are fun & cheery featuring red, yellow, blue & green. Besides texture and color Rousseau also creates leopard patterns, and uses multi-colored piping and fun straps. Rousseau describes his collection as “distinctive and feminine without being obvious.” Celebrities such as Kristen Bell, Charlize Theron, January Jones and Selena Gomez have all been seen wearing the collection. See a clip from E! on Jerome C. Rousseau & his collection here.

Welcome to a new series on ShoeRazzi; Shoes She Should Have Worn. It’s inspired by a post I did awhile on my other blog which I really enjoyed working on.

1. Katie Holmes in Roger Vivier

What she wore: Her own design from Holmes & Yang with Roger Vivier boots

I get her logic behind these Roger Vivier “Belle Lucie” peep-toe boots. She wanted to create a contrast with her dress & choose a shoe that wasn’t too overwhelming with the stripes however, this shoe doesn’t work. In theory it sounds great but I felt like this choice was too chunky. Her outfit didn’t flow. Her choice is extra disappointing because there are a million other black sandals, boots, SHOES to choose from!

She should have worn:

1. Charlotte Olympia Suede Leaf Open Toe Ankle Boots

These heels would have looked perfect with her outfit! They actually match very well with the dress and the cutout leaves around the foot would have provided the break up of skin needed since her dress almost completely covered her.

2. Dolce & Gabbana Open Tor Suede & Mesh Low Boots

If Katie still wanted to wear a boot, this choice would have worked. It’s mesh so the foot would have shown through providing the breakup needed.

3. Sergio Rossi Suede Sling Peep Toe Sandals

This heel would have been a more “typical” choice but at least would have looked a ton better!

2. Katy Perry in Christian Louboutin

What she wore: George Chakra fall 2009 couture with the Christian Louboutin Alta Spritney Peep Toe Suede Sandals

These Christian Louboutins were too much for her gown. I give her props for trying to wear a splash of purple but the gold-strap on top was too much metallic.

She should have worn:

A pump that truly complemented her gown & made her look complete.

My choices:

1. Christian Louboutin No Privé 120 patent slingbacks

Never underestimate the power of “simple” black heel.

2. Giuseppe Zanotti Mirror-embellished suede sandals

Katy is flashy & likes to wear fun things. These would have been over-the-top but would have worked better than the already over-the-top purple Christian Louboutins she chose.

3. Roberto Cavalli Chain-embellished suede sandals

4. Alexander McQueen Heart peep-toe pumps

5. Donna Karan Satin platform sandals

6. Yves Saint Laurent Tribute suede sandals

If Katy absolutely wanted a splash of color, ( I would have to see them on to make a certain decision) but feel these could have worked:

3. Sarah Jessica Parker in Salvatore Ferragamo

I’ve been reading tons of reviews and many people are disappointed by Sarah Jessica Parker’s shoe choice for the New York Sex & the City 2 premiere. I agree; it wasn’t very daring.

What she wore: Valentino couture with Salvatore Ferragamo double platform pumps

What she should have worn:

1. Nicholas Kirkwood

She’s been wearing his designs all week long (I’m not complaining he is my favorite shoe designer right now). Couldn’t he have made her a custom design for the premiere?! Maybe the gown was a last minute switch from Halston to Valentino…

Examples:

Nicholas Kirkwood for Liberty of London:

Okay – they might be overwhelming, but it’s just a Nicholas Kirkwood example….at least these are daring!!

2. Brian Atwood

Again, I still feel a custom creation from one of her favorite designers (Louboutin, Kirkwood or Brian Atwood) would have been the best choice. Brian Atwood examples:

3. Jerome C. Rousseau

Or what about Jerome C. Rousseau? His designs are so brilliant and very “SJP” & “Carrie” (pleasing both audiences :) )

4. Emma Roberts in Brian Atwood

What she wore: Temperely London pre-fall 2010 dress with gold Brian Atwood Maniac hidden platforms.

These were too big for her feet and too chunky. A nice delicate shoe would have worked much better.

She should have worn:

1. Sergio Rossi Swarovski Peep Toe Low Boots

2. Sergio Rossi T-Strap Cage Sandal

It’s Your Turn!
