Chiara Ferragni CollectionPow Bang sandals | 4.5″/115mm | shop at Zappos and CFC
Top style blogger & influencer Chiara Ferragni launched her namesake shoe collection in 2010 with the signature glitter covered ‘Flirting’ flats slowly adding more & more heels to the collection every season. The Spring ’16 ‘Heroes to the Rescue’ shoes are whimsical as ever drawing inspiration from Wonder Woman-esque superheroes and exaggerated comic strip pop art sound effects.
This Pow Bang slip-on mule is one of our favorite styles from this collection featuring two-tone blue leather with a thin toe strap, red patent leather ‘Pow’ & ‘Bang’ appliqué and zig-zag trimmed front strap. It’s available in whole sizes only and alternatively stocked in a funky fun yellow silk satin. We’re also crazy about the blue ‘Stars’ sandals!
Brittany Snow wore Stuart WeitzmanMyex sandals to the 2016 MTV Movie Awards. These strappy heels feature red suede, an exposed heel zipper and stiletto 114mm heel. Myex is available in nude suede at Shopbop and in black & red suede at Stuart Weitzman.

Our tour of the fashion capitals of the world continues. Next stop? Milan! Let’s take a closer look at our favorite Italian exports –nope, not the best-tasting pizza or the creamiest gelato there is –but shoes, of course! Whet your sartorial appetite with these shoes that are just, bellisima.
Dolce & Gabbana
Disney Princess wannabee? Dolce & Gabanna’s whimsical heels will make your fairy tale dreams come true. Metallic t-strap pumps were embellished with glitter, multicolored flowers and furry pompoms. PVC pumps were reminiscent of Cinderella’s glass slippers –you’d never want to leave a shoe behind, that’s for sure –midnight curfew or not.
Furry footwear also tickled the Ferragamo runway. Fur trim adorned the ankle strap on an otherwise classic, muted satin sandal. Toe caps of block-heeled pumps also got the furry treatment, giving the chic footwear the cozy touch of bathroom slippers. Zigzag-patterned lizard skin and suede booties and knee-highs were also playful and edgy additions to the flirty footwear collection.
Stilettos stole the show with its super ornate embellishments –tassels, cord lacing, beadwork, badges, ruffles, belts, straps and buckles were the perfect details to match the military mood of the edgy Victorian coats and Sargent jackets.
The Prada woman for fall is a traveller who treks, hikes and explores in style. Her nomadic footwear consists of lace-ups with wedge heels, multicolored laces and nautical detailing. Her Prada pilgrimage will continue with glossy patents and color-blocked leathers, adorned with golden buckles.
Now you can wear a pair of snakeskin platform boots for almost everyday of the week. The go-go boots came in a plethora of colors –black, gold, purple, blue and green –all snag-worthy for the glam-rock chicks out there.
Cropped and over-the-knee boots weren’t shy of details –the leg covering footwear were heavily dressed up in ruffled leather, scaling, garters and tapered heels. These beauties had an eye-catching color palette too, from cotton candy hues to super bold shades that would light up the streets in the fall.
With Madonna mash-ups playing the background, you can definitely expect a show that is equal parts sexy, rebellious and edgy. Stomp-worthy combat boots were bedecked with studs and colorblocked with blue or green covering. Cowboy boots were studded and buckled –super sexy when paired with short skirts. Then there’s that pair of metallic gladiator boots that are extremely feminine, fierce and totally hot!
Alessandro Michele described his dreamy collection as an ode to, as he said, “some of my passions” –the Seventies, The Renaissance and Street Style were celebrated through platform wedges paired with lustrous hosiery. Horse-bit loafers got a fun makeover and were spruced up with a pointed toe and block heels, while your classic round-toe Mary Janes turned into entrancing accessories with its optical illusion print.
It was a kitten heel parade. Leather ankle booties, got the modest-heel treatment, while pointy pumps already came with zipped up socks for a cosy touch. Ankle strap pumps got a little bit more height and color too. Our favorite? The fluorescent yellow capped stilettos with coral ankle straps.
Consuelo Castiglioni obviously likes to experiment with conceptual forms. Pointy pumps in high-shine neutrals featured wooden wedges with gold trimming –the shoes were like wearable pieces of furniture. Tall boots were also given added lift by wooden orbs, while other pumps were elegantly accented with curved, swirly-shaped wooden heels.
About the author: Zenzhu is a freelance fashion and lifestyle writer who is also a hopeless shoe-addict. He thinks her 5’4″ height and her love for long walks make her deserving of all the stilettos, pumps, sandals and ballet flats in the world. If only the cupcakes she expertly bakes can be traded in for a new pair (or two, or hopefully, more).
We can’t get enough of Tabitha Simmons beautiful floral covered Spring/Summer 2016 collection. It’s feminine, it’s romantic, it’s wearable – it’s everything you want in a springtime shoe. There’s a flower for everyone including cherry blossoms, sweet perennials and a multi-color bouquet…but we’re particularly drawn to this Iris sandal.

During my [long] break from blogging, and even though I wasn’t writing everyday, I was still checking out the latest collections – once a shoe lover, always a shoe lover ☺.
One of the reasons I felt it took me so long to get back to blogging is that I couldn’t help but feel overall uninspired by everything I was seeing stocked in my favorite stores. Aside from a few standouts here & there, the designs seemed monotonous. Which is the reason why I have so much respect for designers who manage to balance creativity with wearability and staple pieces while at the same time maintaining a unique brand voice.
I was browsing through new spring styles and wanted to share the shoes which really caught my eye:
Bionda Castana x LK Bennett checkerboard printed pointed-toe pump in navy and white leather.
Manolo Blahnik soft orange suede pointed-toe pump with shiny blue piped leather trim.
Marskin RyyppyMerope strappy cutout pump in tangerine suede and metallic peacock green snakeskin.
Chloe Gosselin cutout pump in vermilion red suede and matching leather.
Paul AndrewHaikou pump in white satin with raffia & sequin flower embroidery in white and dragon red.

Alejandra G. multicolor pastel snakeskin cage sandal with matching tassels.
Oscar TiyeKitty sandal in glossy black patent leather and contrast white stitching.
Malone SouliersIda gladiator sandal in a beautiful laser-cut teal leather with red patent leather and pretty pink laces; available at Avenue 32.
Mary Katrantzou floral printed leather pumps with croc strap and sculpted gold-tone heel.
Le Silla cutout sandal in platinum snakeskin and long corset-style laces; available at Le Silla.
Jennifer Lopez wore Jimmy ChooMaury sandals to the 2014 Billboard Music Awards held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. We’ve also seen these shoes on Stana Katic, Naomie Harris and Elizabeth Banks. They’re from the 2013 Award Season collection featuring red velvet, mirrored gold leather and 130mm heel. Unfortunately this style is no longer available but you can find Spring & Pre-Fall ’14 styles at Jimmy Choo and Jimmy Choo UK.
We’ve come to expect a show-stopping number from her and she didn’t disappoint arriving in a Donna Karan draped red silk chiffon gown with a plunging neckline, long cape sleeves, double slit skirt and sweeping train from the Fall 2014 collection.
I’m not crazy about the dated half updo, I wish Jennifer opted for something more glamourous. She accessorized with a Jimmy Choo Ciggy S clutch, gold cuff by Jennifer Fisher Jewelry and Marina B triangle Chute earrings.
Nicholas Kirkwood is a shooting star in the high fashion footwear world and soaring ever higher – if you’re not familiar with his eponymous brand, chances are you know and lust after his footwear designs for Peter Pilotto, Roksanda Ilincic, Erdem, Fendi, Rodarte, and Pollini. Unsurprisingly, the brand has jumped up on the “Must Have, Must Love” list after LVMH purchased a majority stake in the company last year, reflected in the skyrocketing sales and sudden attention from acclaimed stylists. His fabulous shoes appear on the red carpet regularly, donned by Hollywood starlets and certified celebrities alike; from Kiernan Shipka to Cate Blanchett, from Lupita Nyong’o to Saoirse Ronan, it wouldn’t be a star studded sartorial affair without a pair of Kirkwood’s not-quite-classic heels making an appearance.
A majority of the shoes are designed in a stunning leather filigree of ornate laser cut leather that really adds a punch of glamour and edge to the collection. Stating that he was inspired by the luxurious history of Morocco, those laser cut designs channel hand-painted tiles and motifs. Secondarily, Kirkwood took inspiration from one of the hottest trends in high fashion right now: sportswear. When talking to Nordstrom about the strong influence of Technicolor fabric and lace-up straps he stated, “there’s a sporty ’70s vibe that features high-tech low soles.”
The collection also plays with texture such as woven silk in neon green, brightly dyed raffia, and elaborate jacquards contrasted against metallic snakeskin. Heels vary in shape from streamline to sleek, chunky to jagged – some of the heels even include signature hidden details, like a pearl nesting under the heel or a unique triangle silhouette. If that’s the way Nicholas Kirkwood views the spring and summer season, we definitely can’t complain! It’s a festive collection that makes a statement in every sole.
If you want a Kirkwood pump that is safe to wear in an office setting – because life is sadly not all soirées and chic brunches – he’s got you covered! His trademark metallic pinheel pump makes an appearance in luscious colors such as emerald, bronze, and blazing red; those dynamic colors will provide versatility year ‘round, whether paired with a summer dress or woolen slacks. We can’t deny the appeal of a perfect heel that can take you from day-to-night with ease.
For years Nicholas Kirkwood has been building an impressive repertoire of fashion awards, we’re absolutely stoked that he’s gaining the popularity and recognition that he deserves. We can’t wait to see where he takes his flourishing label next!
