Which Shoes? Sandals for Spring

I’m starting a new section on my site called Which Shoes. It’s replacing the Street section until I revamp it or decide to get into street spotting again. On the 20th of every month I’m going to share a scenario for which I’m ordering a pair of heels. I would love it if you could help me decide on which ones you think I should get by voting. After a couple days of voting I will order the heels and do a very detailed review on them including pictures and a video.

What I need: I’m going to be in Austin Texas for the whole month of March participating in the South by Southwest events. It’s a very cool festival highlighting music, film and technology. I’m looking for a sandal I can possibly ride a bike in (yes I ride in heels), walk around, shop in, and attend events. I’m used to heels so I can handle the height :). I’m not really an all day concert participator so I won’t be dancing in them all day. Here are the contenders:

1. Miu Miu navy polka dot platform sandal; from the Resort 2011 collection | Available online at MyTheresa
These sandals are fun and I’ve been looking at them for awhile.
2. Pierre Hardy suede espadrille wedge; from the Spring 2011 collection |Available online at Colette
I was in love with so many of the designs from Hardy’s spring collection and these wedges are beautiful!
3. Christian Louboutin Super Dombasle cork sandal; from the Spring 2011 collection | Available online at Neiman Marcus & Saks Fifth Avenue
They would definitely standout…I’m a little hesitant but secretly adore them (not so secret anymore). They are selling out so fast, but I would love them in the nude/blush color.
4. Miu Miu canvas platform wedge; from the Resort 2011 collection | Available online at MyTheresa
These are probably the most practical choice. They’re a standard spring wedge that I can wear with almost everything.

Pierre Hardy all the way! :-)

The Louboutin’s because they have a dressy-er material which will be great for both day and night. Great neutral color for any oufit. Cork is great slightly flexible material and doesn’t look so bad when some dirt or daily walking scum is on the bottom (heaven for bid it ever gets on a pair of Louboutins!).

The only thing I would say is make sure the ankle strap is comfortable. Rubbing all day in a non organic material will lead to painful nights soaking in a salt water bath for your beautiful feet. Or you could always gam it up with some socks, stockings or tights. That would be super cute too and would reduce any friction!

Love this new section of the website. If only we had the same shoe size!

I definitely see you in the Polka dot Mui Mui, they are fun/playful, sleek, and sexy! Perfect for spring in my opinion! Nick thinks so too! He even picked it before knowing what I picked :)

I love the cork sandal. I am picturing the event and you on the back of a bike and that’s whay you were wearing xoxo

I think either one of the Miu Miu shoes. :) Polka dot one is my first pick. xoxo

Although I love the Miu Miu Navy Polka Dot – the tall heel will eventually take it’s toll no matter how well you walk, run or bike in them, the Cork Sandal is my vote; it’s stable, not too too high, a nice platform and super stylish! – Any shoe worn over 8 hours is going to let you know it’s there! Perhaps take along two pairs: one for half the day, and then trick your feet by changing shoes with the other! You’ll be good as new.

I would say either the Louboutin or the Miu Miu wedge… they aren’t as steep and won’t be as hard on your feet since you will need to be out and about all day.

    Have fun at SXSW!!

I would have to say the Miu Miu. I bought the Louboutin’s and they just fell apart. I love his shoes but these are not made well at all.
